Sébastien Loeb joined the team Richard Mille
By MyWatch
In addition to this Frenchman’s huge talent – with 9 world championships under his belt! – Richard Mille was won over by his warm personality and down-to-earth approach.
At just 38 years old, Sébastien Loeb has already developed an exceptional career, with a record-breaking 9 world championship titles, 76 victories and 112 podium finishes in the World Rally Championships. Loyal to Citroën since his competitive debut, he is supported by a dedicated team who have shared his success for many years and his co-driver and friend Daniel Elena has played a role in all his victories from the outset. The pair’s brilliance and mutual understanding have enabled them to take podium after podium and go down in motor sport history. Sébastien Loeb is also renowned for his great versatility in motorsports, moving from dirt to road with extraordinary ease, as demonstrated by his magnificent second place in the 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Team Pescarolo prototype.
Given these achievements, it would be easy for Sébastien Loeb to relax now but always looking for new challenges, he created Sébastien Loeb Racing in 2011, a motor racing team. The 2013 racing season will be intense for the team which steps into the FIA GT Series with two McLaren, MP4-12C GT3. Sébastien Loeb will also participate in the GT Sprint Series season on top of his partial rallying programme in WRC (4 rounds). This will open a new chapter in the motorsport career of this great champion, who is extremely popular with the general public.
Richard Mille is delighted to have Sébastien Loeb in its team alongside other famous sporting talents, especially as Loeb reflects the spirit of the ‘RM Family’ perfectly. This partnership also provides a further opportunity for Richard Mille to place its watches in extreme conditions and test their performance and resistance to impacts as well as comfort. Sébastien Loeb, like RM’s other sporting partners, will wear a Richard Mille watch on his wrist while competing, the first time being the Monte Carlo Rallye 16th to 19th of January. It is well-known that motorsports are one of Richard Mille’s greatest passions and a continuous source of inspiration. Sharing the design philosophy of today’s racing cars, RM watches are highly efficient, uncompromising and streamlined where function dictates form with no gimmicks.
