AUDEMARS PIGUET is pleased to announce the addition of PGA golfers Louis Oosthuizen, Keegan Bradley and Bud Cauley as the Company’s newest brand ambassadors. They join the illustrious Audemars Piguet Golf Ambassador Team that represents the company’s commitment to mastery by gathering an array of exceptional players who are passionate and embody the brand values and philosophy.
Louis Oosthuizen, a discreet yet determined man from South African and world number 6, came to the attention of the public in 2010 by winning the Open Championship – his first Major – in great style while leaving his direct opponent seven strokes behind. It was on this occasion that the South African champion achieved the second best score in the history of the legendary St. Andrews course, finishing 16 strokes below par. Oosthuizen went on to win 4 tournaments since and was runner-up at the 2012 Masters.
American Keegan Bradley, an elegant and extremely complete golfer known for the breadth of his technical range and his incredible mental control, recently worked his way amongst the 10 best players in the world with a series of 4 consecutive Top 10 finishes. In his first season on the PGA Tour in 2011 he won twice, including the PGA Championship, marking just the third time in the history of the game that a player won a major championship in his first attempt. A year later he cemented his place among the world’s leading players by winning the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and being a valued member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
Bud Cauley, born in 1990, symbolizes a new generation of smart, instinctive, high-performing players. Upon leaving the University of Alabama in 2011 as a three-time All-American, the highest individual accolade in US collegiate sports, he debuted at the US Open and made the cut. He would go on to become the sixth player in golf history to go straight from college to the PGA Tour, without going to Qualifying School. Golf experts predict a bright future for Bud who looks firmly set to continue making a name for himself.
François-Henri Bennahmias, CEO of Audemars Piguet, commented on the importance of golf for the brand “The worlds of golf and watchmaking are interlinked, sharing values such as passion, precision and rigorousness. We are proud to team up with such exceptional golfers, passionate about their sport as well as perpetuating these values through their outstanding professionalism and success.”
The Audemars Piguet golf ambassadors have mastered their sport and embody Audemars Piguet’s philosophy, “To break the rules, you must first master them”. Audemars Piguet’s timepieces reflect all the common qualities between the two worlds while also being the perfect combination of style and strength.
