Under the Summer Sun
Flowery shirts, sunglasses, sunscreen and colourful watches, Frank sans C and Jean Lassaussois are ready to spend a watchmaking summer. Breitling, Cartier, Hublot, Longines, OMEGA, TAG Heuer, Tissot and Tudor take their place under the sun alongside our two tick-tack fanatics.
TAG HEUER, Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph
Quintessence of summer watches, the Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph is powered by a solar quartz movement: the TH50-01. No need to recharge the battery to make it work: the watch recharges under artificial light or sunlight. Ony two minutes are necessary for a day of use, and 40 hours for 10 months. Despite its 34 mm in diameter, the watch is intended for both male and female wrists.
Several variations are available, of which the three steel models presented here: blue sunray dial, grained green dial or mother-of-pearl dial. In a small size but with great legibility, the dial displays white hands and indexes coated in Super-Luminova® and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. Those variations are rated to 200 meters of water-resistance and equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel, a crown and a screw-down case back. The bracelet is equipped with a link extension system.
All these technical elements make Aquaracer a watch to wear on the beach this summer. A few hours of diving or other extreme sports, it’ll follow you everywhere.

CARTIER, Santos de Cartier large model
At the end of the event Watches and Wonders Geneva, we highlighted the numerous dial animations available at Cartier.
With its gradient brown and satin-finished colour with a slight sunray effect, the rule applies as well for this large model version of the Santos de Cartier. Powered by a self-winding mechanical movement 1847MC, the piece sports a steel case (39.8 x 47.5 mm), water-resistant up to 100 meters, equipped with a seven-sides crown ornate with a synthetic faceted blue spinel. The watch follows the aesthetic codes of the luxury brand’s collection with sword hands in polished rhodium-plated steel, Roman numerals and a minute track. However, the astute eye should have noticed the absence of the secret signature. The dial houses also a discrete date aperture at 6 o’clock blending perfectly with the rest. Equipped with the Smartlink system to fit the wrist perfectly, the steel bracelet is also equipped with the QuickSwitch system, and can thus be easily fitted on a brown alligator leather strap for a more vintage look.

HUBLOT, Classic Fusion Titanium Blue
Iconic reference of Hublot’s collections, the Classic Fusion dresses itself in titanium. Between the material’s hues and the navy blue of the sunray and satin-finished dial and the striped rubber strap, the match is perfect. The 42 mm Classic Fusion Titanium Blue displays the characteristic bezel with its six H-shape screws. Perfectly aligned, they are the Maison’s signature. Sport chic, this edition is powered by a self-winding movement, visible through a crystal case back, equipped with an oscillating weight signed Hublot. With 42 hours of power reserve, it is also available in 45, 38, 33, and 29 mm.

LONGINES, Conquest
Pastel green, blue and pink, these summer colours got the invitations for the new 34 mm Longines Conquest – diameter revealed in 2023. This summery trio is here to celebrate the 70th birthday of the definitely sporty chic collection.
Available on a steel bracelet or on a textured rubber strap with colours matching the dial, these steel editions beat at the rhythm of highly precise self-winding calibre. Exclusive to the watchmaking brand, it is equipped with a silicium anti-magnetic spiral and a 72-hour power reserve. Thoroughly decorated, the cogs and the oscillating weight cut out with the brand’s logo, the winged-hourglass, can be glimpsed at the back through a screw-down crystal case back.
On a sunray-finished dial, hands and indexes coated in Super-Luminova® share the spotlight with a date aperture at 6 o’clock. Those coloured variations are rated to 100 meters of water-resistance.

OMEGA, Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M
Omega’s great diver, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M is, as indicated in its name, water-resistant up to 600 meters deep. The collection expands with three self-winding chronographs with a column wheel and a Co-Axial escapement. Master Chronometer certified by the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), the calibre is equipped with a silicium spiral that resists to magnetic fields. It offers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.
With a 45.5 mm diameter and an imposing thickness of 18.99 mm, these instruments vary in the following colours: grey dial, counters and rubber strap in green; linen-coloured dial and rubber strap, brown counters; anthracite grey dial and rubber bracelet, light grey counters. Ready to dive into deep waters, the steel watches are equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel, a helium valve, screw-down back and crown, hands and indexes coated in luminescent matter for optimal legibility under any circumstances.
At the back, the astute eye will have noticed the presence of the Seahorse logo present on the Omega Seamaster models.

TISSOT, PR100 Tour de France
Since last Saturday, many sportsmen started the Tour de France. Departing from Italy, it will exceptionally end in Nice the 21 July due to the Olympic Games held in Paris this summer.
Official timekeeper of the most watch in the world cyclist event, Tissot revealed – as each year – a dedicated watch. Wearing the attire of the PR100, this 40 mm 316L steel model features many references to the cyclist world.
The grained black dial recalls the asphalt on which the cyclists ride; the counterweight of the second hand is shaped as a bicycle; and finally, the case back is engraved with the Tour de France logo.
Rated to 100 meters of water-resistance, this quartz special edition is available with a second bracelet in black and yellow perforated bi-matter, echoing the texture of the bicycle handlebar grips.

TUDOR, Black Bay Chrono Pink
The Black Bay collection sees life in pink with its new model named Black Bay Chrono Pink. Inspired by the colours of the Inter Miami CF of which Tudor is the official timekeeper, and David Beckmann the co-owner – and the brand’s ambassador –, the circle is thus complete.
Echoing the vibrant soul of South Florida, the pink adorns the dial of this 41 mm 316L steel reference. Contrasted by black counters, it features the characteristic Snowflake hands, indexes coated with grade A SuperLuminova® and a discrete date aperture at 6 o’clock.
It is also rimed by a fixed steel bezel equipped with a black anodised aluminium insert and a tachymetric scale. Fitted on a five-link bracelet with a quick-adjust clasp, exclusive to Tudor and called the “T-fit”, the chronograph is powered by a self-winding calibre chronometer certified by the COSC. Providing a 70-hour power reserve, it is equipped with a silicium spiral resisting to magnetic fields, a column wheel and a vertical clutch.

BREITLING, Superocean Automatic 42
From the watchmaking Maison Breitling, the new Superocean is a firework of colours bringing peps to our rainy summer. The brand celebrates this year its 140th anniversary and offers a 42 mm model matched with an orange rubber strap full of vitamins. Inspired by the mythical diver watch SuperOcean Slow Motion from the 1960-1970, this reference stands out with its black dial and a rainbow created by the indexes. Besides the beauty granted to the model, they also grant an optimal legibility with their gradient luminescent coating.
Water-resistance of 300 meters, unidirectional rotating bezel, hands and indexes coated in Super-Luminova®, screw-down crown and case back, all technical features are gathered to make this edition a great diver. Equipped with a 38-hour power reserve, the self-winding calibre is certified by the very serious COSC. The Superocean Automatic is also available on a rubber strap either turquoise, aquamarine or yellow.
