Oris scores points in Formula 1 with Valtteri Bottas
Valtteri Bottas, promising young Formula 1 driver and Oris ambassador, has shown his talent in Canada (Montreal) by finishing on the third step of the podium and signed the fifth place at the two following Grand Prix, in Austria (Spielberg) and Great Britain (Silverstone). The prodigy is clearly ready for another fantastic season with Williams Martini Racing team.
Bottas said his third-place finish would be a huge push to the team, which last climbed the podium at the 2014 finale in Abu Dhabi. ‘Like last year, we saw that these results really boost our confidence,’ said the Finn. ‘We know we are a top team again and that we can fight for podiums.’
Oris has been Williams F1’s Official Watch Partner since 2003. This year, the team’s cars, helmets, overalls, gloves and team shirt all carry the Oris logo, while Bottas – widely regarded one of racing’s rising stars – proudly sports the Oris Williams Chronograph.
The new Oris Williams collection celebrates the Swiss watch brand’s long-standing relationship with the F1 team and includes chronograph and time-only models. The Oris Williams Chronograph worn by Bottas has a 44mm stainless steel case, rubber strap and is powered by an automatic chronograph movement.
Since winning his race seat with Williams in 2013, 25-year-old Bottas has been in impressive form – he delivered four podium finishes last year, securing his seat for the 2015 season. His career began in karting before he moved on to Formula Renault (where, at 17-years-old, he won two races) and Formula 3. He joined Williams in 2010 as test driver.
‘I travel the world with Williams Martini Racing, and everywhere I go the Oris Williams Chronograph draws admiring looks,’ says Bottas. ‘It’s a high-performance, motor sport-inspired watch, and it suits me and meets all my needs.’ says Bottas.
