New Longines Conquest Roland Garros : Steel serving women sportiness
The Swiss watch brand Longines is celebrating 10 years of partnership with Roland Garros by editing a model which honors tennis-lovers and specially created in honor of the prestigious Parisian clay court tournament.
Longines has been the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the Roland Garros tournament since 2007. This long-lasting, ten-year partnership with the prestigious event naturally led the brand to launch a dedicated chronograph in 2015, the Conquest 1/100th Roland Garros. This model generated considerable interest, notably from Stefanie Graf, Longines Ambassador of Elegance, who sought to have the brand issue a model designed for elegant female tennis fans who, like herself, consider the French Open as one of the most iconic events on the international circuit.
Stirred by the enthusiasm shown by the six-time French Open winner, Longines launched the Conquest Roland Garros ladies model this year, a watch that encapsulates both the dynamic aesthetic of a sports watch and the classical elegance of the winged hourglass brand. Designed in the spirit of the men’s Conquest 1/100th Roland Garros model, this chronograph boasts a sunray pattern anthracite dial coupled with orange accents on the watch hands, dial and flange indexes subtly hinting at the emblematic clay courts of Roland Garros. The watch caseback displays an engraved logo of the event.
With its 36-mm diameter, this steel model displays the hours, minutes and seconds, along with a 1/10th of a second counter at 2 o’clock, a date window at 4 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock and a 30-minute counter at 10 o’clock. Water-resistant up to 30 bar (300 metres), it houses a L538 quartz movement and features 11 applied indexes and an Arabic numeral at 12 o’clock. This model is mounted on a steel bracelet with folding clasp.
