The Panerai manufacture – combining Italian design and Swiss technology – has designed a delightfully vintage special edition of its emblematic Radiomir watch to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Paneristi web community.

Paneristi.com uses the well-known moniker that unconditional fans of the house gave themselves. No need to say that, in all likelihood, most of these exclusive supporters also count among the diligent members of the digital community. This website is a great place to talk and interact about the brand and its models.
Passionate watch for passionate people, the Radiomir Venti is the result of an intense collaboration between the Paneristi and Panerai’s creative team. The watch recalls the first creations of Panerai dating to the 1930s, when it used to supply the diving corps of the Italian Navy.

Panerai’s vintage style: faultless technique…
Cushion case, wire loop strap attachments, fluted ridged crown: the original design is fully respected. A fact also broadcasted by the sandwich dial, a Panerai signature consisting of superposing two separate layers. The bottom one is covered in luminous material (radium at the time, a radioactive substance which gave its name to the watch) while the top layer has the numbers and markers cut out.
The Radiomir Venti 45 mm diameter boasts a 316L steel case. An alloy known for its robustness and resistance to corrosion – as you know, it is also called stainless steel – to which specialists from the Laboratorio di idee, the R&D department of the manufacture, intentionally gave a stunning aged patina effect.

On the dial side, vintage is also fashionable with a beautiful combination of a brown sun-brushed dial – with a finish imitating the effects of time on old Panerai models – and underneath, a beige Super-Luminova to accentuate this tribute to the past. Connoisseurs will also notice the peculiar figure of the luminescent golden hands, which are sword-shaped just like on ancient models.

The tribute to the community is impossible to miss, with its insignia personalizing both dial and screwed down, solid case back to celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Less obvious, a special engraving “VENTI” was added between the lugs at 6 o’clock.
For the laymen, you have to know that the Paneristi.com insignia includes a graphic element… which is actually not purely artistic. Indeed, it represents the famous crown-protecting device called lever bridge – lever represented open – which equips the other manufacture icon: the Luminor.
This model, conceived after the Radiomir, bears the name of the new luminescent material perfected in the beginning of the 1950s and which its dial benefits from: a substance tritium-based and less radioactive than radium.
Of course, these dangerous components were replaced by the Luminova in the middle of the 1990s, and then promptly by the Super-Luminova: better luminescent materials and, above all, completely safe.
Efficacity and reliability at the heart of the Panerai movement powering the Radiomir Venti
Water resistant up to 100 meters, the Radiomir Venti houses Calibre P.6000, manually-wound (tribute to the past oblige). A finely crafted movement, entirely conceived, designed and developed in the workshops of the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel (Switzerland). The power reserve lasts three days: a comfortable autonomy which is today’s standard for Panerai.
Two main hands, one barrel, Incabloc anti-shock device, 3 Hz frequency (21,600 alternations/hour): the movement focuses on the essential – robustness and reliability – without flourishes or additional watch complications.
