A short history
Pierre Georges Latécoère (1883-1943) was one of the first manufacturers of aircraft and seaplanes, including the Laté 28, an airplane piloted by Jean Mermoz that achieved the first commercial crossing of the South Atlantic. This feat was one of the precursors to the creation of the first transcontinental mail lines that took the name of Aeropostale in 1927.
