Corum and its Ti-Bridge line celebrate their design and innovation history through an association with the « Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine » – Paris
By MyWatch
Fine Watchmaking and architecture: two diverse worlds linked by a desire to innovate as a means of making their mark on time.
True to its history of innovation, in 2009 Corum launched the Ti-Bridge line – the contemporary urban interpretation of the legendary Golden Bridge and its in-line baguette movement. The design universe surrounding this line has unceasingly developed ever since, giving rise to pieces that are rich in terms of both aesthetics and horological content. The Ti-Bridge Power Reserve and its linear power-reserve indicator, the Ti-Bridge Lady with its sleek, feminine features and the Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder with its revolutionary Corum-patented winding system all vividly illustrate the daring and creativity inherent in the Ti-Bridge line.
The choice of materials, the importance of design, an approach to innovation that respects existing identities are all elements that connect Corum to the world of architecture. The subtle blend of sobriety, modernity and elegance of the Ti-Bridge line has adhered to modern architectural codes since its creation. The Ti-Bridge represents a link between watchmaking and architecture, two worlds differentiated by the size of their works but which are united in their respect for the professions through which they exist and in their quest for creativity. It was therefore quite logical that the Ti-Bridge line should cross paths with that of the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine and that joint projects have been launched through a partnership formalized on September 25th 2013.
In May 2014, the House of Corum will partner the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine to encourage sustainable architectural projects. Within the framework of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, a committee of scientists will be entrusted with the task of appointing five architects based on their commitment to and practice of sustainable architecture. Corum will reward the winners with a timepiece from the Ti-Bridge line. This is a means of recognizing professionals who rise to the 21st century challenges of urbanization in an innovative manner, using environment-friendly materials and state-of-the-art construction technologies.
