Imagined by the prestigious shoemaker Pierre Corthay to honour the “Compagnons du Devoir” and their unique skills, the Excellence Run aims at discovering the heritage of exceptional craftsmanship and at promoting the Masters of their art.
The philosophy of this project is shared by Groupe Edmond de Rothschild, an active supporter of craftsmanship and excellence for many generations.
Over 4 days, from Sunday the 10th of July 2011, 21 guests and their exceptional cars, symbols of unique craftsmanship and know-how of the 50s and 60s, will travel throughout Switzerland, the homeland of Pierre Corthay, to meet outstanding personalities and their workshops. Each day, participants will have the chance to discover a master craftsman and share his passion.
The first edition of the Excellence Run Corthay – Groupe Edmond de Rothschild will start from the prestigious Hotel du Mont d’Arbois in Megève and lead its participants up majestic and famous roads through Gstaad and Luzern to a finish line in Stresa on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The participants – from Europe, Asia, India and the United States – have a shared passion for unique items. Their cars – Ferrari 250 California Spyder, Aston Martin DB4 Convertible, Ferrari 250 MM, Bentley Continental Type R… – are all evidence of automotive excellence and attention to detail.
