Hublot Polo Cup Ascona 2013

The Hublot Polo Cup in Ascona, Switzerland graced the shores of beautiful Lake Maggiore this weekend. The magnificent tournament took place at the Swiss resort renowned for its Lido lakefront, walks, beautiful villas and luxury hotels. After the parade of horses and players in town and on the Lido, 450 VIPs including Swiss, Italian and some of the largest German fortunes were invited to attend a Beach Party Friday night. The Magical setting with spectacular light and sound was lakeside where guests donned casual dress and bare feet in the sand and danced late into the night after a great Argentinian barbecue.

Saturday evening, the main event began at 8pm where under large tents decorated for an Indian themed evening, the matches and party began! Guests were treated to the magic of India with bright colors and fire jugglers between matches, the atmosphere was again a festive party.

Finally, on Sunday afternoon, the games began with eagles spectacular show. The games held the audience spellbound till the very end with the victory of Team Styger & Partner Wealth Management. The winners were each given one Chukker Bang, a Big Bang model specially developed by Hublot for Polo. Captain of Indian Team delivered a wonderful speech, honoring the winners with fair play and elegance. Everyone is already looking forward to next year’s tournament!

The Chukker Bang is a 44 mm diameter Big Bang equipped with a titanium grille – a first for Hublot – which protects the sapphire crystal. This grille can be removed from the bezel if desired. Another special feature of the HUB1141 Polo Flyback automatic chronograph movement is its 7 min 30 counter which reflects the length of one period of play, or “chukka”, in a polo match, from which the model takes the name “Chukker Bang”.
