Mr. Jean-Claude Biver, a Gaia Award 2010 Prizewinner

On Thursday 16 September 2010, in the La Chaux-de-Fonds International Watchmaking Museum, before an audience of nearly 300 people, including a number of personalities from the Swiss watchmaking industry, Mr. Jean-Claude Biver – CEO of Hublot – had the privilege of receiving the “2010 Entrepreneurship” Gaia Award, presented by Mr. Ludwig Oechslin, Chairman of the Jury and Curator of the Museum, for: “his career as a whole and his qualities as a visionary businessman and marketing genius”.
Messrs Jacques Muller and Elmar Mock – Inventors of the new technical solutions within the patents of the Swatch concept watch – also received in this same ceremony the 2010 Gaia Award in the “Craft & Creation” category.
Outstanding figures among the host of people in attendance included Mr. Jean-René Bannwart, Chairman of the MIH commission, Mr. Gérard Triponez, Chairman of the Le Locle Watchmaking Museum Committee, Mr. Marc Pfister, Director of the La Chaux-de-Fonds School of Applied Arts, and Mr. Philippe Gnaegi, State Councillor of the Republic and Canton of Neuchatel, Mr. Didier Berberat, Member of the Council of States, Mrs Francine John Calame and Mrs Sylvie Perrinjaquet, National Councillors.
