Parmigiani at the 66th Locarno Film Festival
From the 7th to the 17th August 2013, the Piazza Grande in Locarno has been once again stage this authentic celebration of international cinema. This legendary festival, which has been running since 1946, is one of the oldest of its kind and it is thanks to its strong values and this desire to engage in cultural exchange that it has gained a special place in the international scene.
This 66th festival is marked by an offcial recognition of this reputation earned over the years. For the first time, the Europa Cinema Label prize has been awarded at the Locarno Offcial Film Festival. In this way, the vibrant culture of the Ticino valley joins the losed circle of the great European festivals, such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Karlovy Vary. Nadia Dresti, Head of the international activities of the Locarno Film Festival and Ambassador for Parmigiani Fleurier as a Woman of Exception was particularly honoured to see this new collaboration, which opens up new perspectives for development for the Festival.
Parmigiani Fleurier joined in this celebration of recognition and has this year committed to bestow a “Parmigiani Life Time Achievement Award” to celebrate the exceptional career of someone who has made their mark in cinema history.
This year, was rewarded the English actress Jacqueline Bisset.
