“red dot design award” for the Lange Zeitwerk
With the renowned “red dot design award” in the “product design” category, the LANGE ZEITWERK from the traditional watch brand A. Lange & Söhne has just won its second major international design prize. The first mechanical wristwatch with a truly eloquent jumping numeral display stands for an innovative product concept that defines a new direction in fine watchmaking.
The “red dot” seal of quality has been awarded annually by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen since 1955 in recognition of internationally outstanding product design. It is thus not only one of the oldest design awards in the world, but also one of the most important.
On 8 March 2010 in Essen, out of 4,252 products submitted from 57 countries, the jury of 30 internationally recognised design experts presented the coveted prize to the LANGE ZEITWERK in the jewellery, fashion and luxury articles section. A total of over 600 products received awards in 12 different product categories. With the red dot design award the LANGE ZEITWERK, which was presented last year, has now received its second design prize in succession following the Chicago Athenaeum’s “Good Design Award”, and its tenth product award.
