Rolex Trophy Les Voiles de Saint Tropez
The Marconi in honor of the 10th edition of the Rolex Trophy. For nine years, the Rolex Trophy has always honored a particular class of vessel and distinguished the boat that showed the greatest regularity during the competitive week. This year the Marconi B Group will have the privilege to compete to win the trophy, on which are engraved the famous names of classic yachts.
The big show of “Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez”
Few races in the world can claim to reunite such a diverse and exciting fleet such as the one that arises every year before the city of Bailli de Suffren. The 2015 edition is no exception to the rule. Among the 300 monohulls, almost half of the registered ones are into the category of classic yachts. This gathering is the unique occasion to discover the extent of the naval architects know-how.
Place to the Marconi, the former glories of the Rolex Fastnet Race
After having showcased the classic yachts of over 16 meters as well as the Centenarians Auric B, this year the Rolex Trophy focuses on fifty-year-old sailboats with modern designs. An adequate decision with the 90th anniversary of the legendary Rolex Fastnet Race which will be held during the month of August, in which a large number of entries from the Rolex Trophy today have participated.
Thirteen Marconi in the race for the trophy (to date)?Argos, Crazy Life, Espar II, Whimsical, Ilaria, Namib Noryema IV, Oryx, Outlaw, Palynodie II, Ratafia, St Christopher and Stiren: all will be on the starting line, Tuesday September 29th for the first round of the Rolex Trophy. These monohulls that are between 11 and 16 meters lengthwise and whose particularity is characterized by it’s single mast, topped by a triangular mainsail, fired their first runs in the large gatherings of the time: Admiral’s Cup, Fastnet Race RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club).
Sailboats that have made history
Property of Francis Bouygues in 1960, Oryx defended the colors of France in 1967 alongside ?Pen Duick III, Eric Tabarly’s vessel. Outlaw, his sister ship, belongs to Mike Horsley, whose father was a member of the jury of the Nioulargue. Marconi Gaston Deferre – Palynodie II won almost all the major classics Mediterranean in the 1960s, except for one, the Giraglia!?So many boats, all of which marked their time and embody perfectly the values ??of the Rolex Trophy.

Monday September 28th : reception of traditional yachts, registration deadline.
September : Tuesday 29th – Wednesday 30th // October : Friday 2nd – Saturday 3rd October : Coast Regattas in the Bay of Saint-Tropez (starting at 11am).
Sunday October 4th : Rolex Trophy Award ceremony.
