Its Escale Spin Time watch incorporates the ingenious hour\u00a0display principle of the Spin Time movement into the Escale case, revisiting the theme\u00a0of miniature painting that makes Escale dials so special.<\/p>\n<p>This time, colour is used all over the watch, right down to the movement,\u00a0in this \u00a0reinterpretation. By breaking with convention, the Escale Spin Time takes\u00a0Louis Vuitton\u2019s rich history of watchmaking in an exciting new direction, like an invitation\u00a0to embark on a joyous, interior journey through an exceptional timepiece.<\/p>\n<p>With every passing hour, the Escale Spin Time\u2019s dial changes appearance without\u00a0losing any personality, which it expresses through the 24 geometric square flags that\u00a0have been carefully rendered by hand on each of the 12 cubes. This was achieved\u00a0using the process of pad printing, which consists of transferring inks contained\u00a0in depressions in the image, or clich\u00e9, using a silicone rubber pad, one colour\u00a0at a time. The results are extremely precise but highly complex to achieve on such\u00a0small surfaces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A playful and colourful hour display<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2010 Louis Vuitton unveiled its Tambour Spin Time GMT, which introduced\u00a0a playful and innovative new way to display the hours. This new case was named Escale, inspired by\u00a0the House\u2019s iconic trunks. The innovative design showcased fascinating functions and\u00a0a colourful dial inspired by the practice of customising trunks using bands of colour,\u00a0initials and coats of arms, painted on by hand. The minutes are indicated more traditionally, with a hand.
