THE PEERLESS EXCALIBUR COLLECTION
The new Excalibur collection has become more virile, its high-tech movements more visible, and its style more modern. In 2005, the ROGER DUBUIS Manufacture took the watch world by storm with the presentation of a highly unusual model that was as virile as it was original, the EXCALIBUR. With the EXCALIBUR collection, the young watch company proved that “value is not a question of years”, further evidence of the astonishing symbiosis that characterises the Brand, a masterful combination of ancestral watchmaking savoir-faire and a boldly modern style.
Added to this were several powerful identifying features: a large-sized case, a strap with triple lugs that has become a hallmark of the Brand, a sophisticated crown-guard, and a fluted bezel. The EXCALIBUR line built itself such a solid position that it has been equipped with the Manufacture’s most sophisticated movements. A few years later, ROGER DUBUIS decided to re-design the contours of this model, which in the meantime had become the brand’s iconic collection.
The bezel has become more assertive thanks to its more dynamic, deeper flutes. The crown-guard, while preserving its strong personality, has become more streamlined and hugged the case middle more snugly. The ingenious effect of a double flange around the dial gave has given it greater depth by highlighting each identifying feature of the collection. The EXCALIBUR collection has clearly matured and its development confirms its dominant position.
This year, ROGER DUBUIS is presenting refined models that combine precious metals with the most sophisticated movements, with that most sovereign of noble metals, platinum, used to house the grand complication movements. The dials are pierced, while the large Roman numerals continue to be offered in a variety of versions.
EXCALIBUR, pierced tourbillon from the new ROGER DUBUIS tourbillon family
Equipped with the brand new self-winding mechanical movement, one of the collection’s very latest models, the pierced tourbillon, reveals both its micro-rotor and flying tourbillon. The rose gold fillets outline the mother-of-pearl area on a dial designed with a circle theme and accentuate the strength of the large Roman numerals. The rose gold case is complemented by a hand-sewn alligator strap fitted with a rose gold folding clasp.
This exclusive model comes in a single limited series of 88.
