Powerful by design, technical owing to its carbon material used to make it, and embracing horological complications, this finely-tuned new watch is limited to 300 numbered models worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HIGH-TECH CASING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A generous 46.5 mm diameter forged carbon case has been paired with a stainless steel container with DLC coating to make it fully watertight, all secured by five screws visible on the bezel. Renowned for being ultra-resistant to both shocks and temperature differences, this top of the range material is being used for the first time by Michel Herbelin, ensuring the watch is robust, while being light and comfortable to wear, as well as striking to look at.<\/p>\n<p>Also made from forged carbon, the black marbled background of the dial enhances the dynamic data display. Coordinating with the stylised hour and minute hands, imposing black plated hour markers coated with white luminescent material punctuate a highly precise minutes scale, highlighted by a circular brushed blue flange. Completing the ensemble, a double aperture positioned at 3 o\u2019clock indicates the day against a black background and the date against a red background.<\/p>\n<p>Combining carbon with the Newport DNA - the strap\u2019s central lugs, porthole-style bezel adorned with five screws modelled on yacht winches, ship\u2019s wheel stamped on the crown, hands in the shape of floating pavilions and hour markers inspired by a boat\u2019s hull - enhances the technicality of the range and truly immerses it in the world of competitive sports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RACE READY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Produced in close collaboration with Aur\u00e9lien Ducroz, this chronograph is equipped with a regatta countdown function. Useful for setting a race start timing within a<\/p>\n<p>predefined period of time, this shows up in the Newport azure blue counter at 12 o\u2019clock. Comprised of three different levels for ease of reading, the centre reveals a red plated compass shaped hand with a luminescent white coating. Triggered at the first firing of the starting gun by pressing on the push-piece at 2 o\u2019clock, it sweeps through three five-minute zones. While the first two are differentiated by the colour of the markers, the third informs of the imminence of a start signal by the addition of a red line, clearly visible at a glance.<\/p>\n<p>A precision instrument, the counter located at 6 o\u2019clock adds the final sporty touch to this finely-tuned watch. Complete with white central seconds hand, it can record elapsed times up to 12 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Powered by a Swiss-made Sellita SW501 automatic mechanical movement exclusive to Michel Herbelin, oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and incorporating 25 jewels, the Carbon Newport Regatta offers a 48-hour power reserve. Its smoky transparent caseback reveals a Michel Herbelin engraved oscillating weight.<\/p>\n<p>Water-resistant to 300 metres, this limited edition is adorned with a Newport blue strap in high-performance FKM elastomer and features a deployant clasp with DLC coated steel securing buckle.
