Since it became independent over 30 years ago, it has pioneered numerous modules that deliver useful complications (such as calendars, alarms and world timers), and before that it developed 279 inhouse calibres. Today, the company only makes mechanical watches, and the trio of in-house calibres added since its 110th anniversary in 2014 invigorate that rich heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Calibres 110 and 111 were both developed by Oris\u2019s expert team of watchmakers and industrially produced to the exacting standards of traditional Swiss watchmaking, delivering highconcept, high-quality movements. At the same time, both delivered useful functions and unrivalled value, in keeping with the Oris mantra to create \u2018real watches for real people\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This year, that story continues with Artelier Calibre 112, a beautifully designed and produced watch with practical functions aimed at global travellers.<\/p>\n<p>The watch\u2019s second time zone appears in a subdial at 12 o\u2019clock and shows the time in full, with dedicated hour and minute hands, while the day\/night indication is shown by two apertures in the dial. One is round and shaped like the Sun, the other crescentshaped like the Moon. Under the dial there is a two-tone rotating disc. During the day this turns the Sun white and the Moon dark, and the reverse at night. At sunrise and sunset, both indicators become a mix of the two colours to show the progression. Each of the watch\u2019s functions is operated through a single crown.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019ll be a stainless steel option with either a blue-grey or opaline silver dial, and a bi-colour model with an 18-carat rose gold bezel and an opaline silver dial.
