J12 CALIBER 12.2
In 2022, CHANEL marked a new milestone in the story of the iconic J12 watch and presented the first J12 33MM watch endowed with a self-winding movement. A veritable technical tour de force and an expression of the savoir-faire of CHANEL Watchmaking. Designed in Paris by Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio, and manufactured and assembled by experts at the CHANEL Watchmaking Manufacture, the J12 33MM watch was now equipped with a self-winding movement that was unprecedented: the Caliber 12.2.
Assembled by the Swiss Kenissi Manufacture, co-owned by CHANEL, the Caliber 12.2 is a miniaturized motorization in which each component has been readjusted to ensure its unique performance. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Caliber 12.2 is decorated and endowed with an oscillating weight in the form of a perfect circle, the signature of CHANEL Watchmaking. It is chronometer-certified by the COSC, the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, and has a power reserve of 50 hours. The J12 CALIBER 12.2 33MM watch is available in black or white highly resistant ceramic.
In 2024, the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio embellishes the J12 CALIBER 12.2 watch with diamonds on the dial and the bezel and comes in three versions. The first, in black or white ceramic, displays 12 brilliant-cut diamonds on a lacquered dial. The second, in white ceramic, displays 12 brilliant-cut diamonds on a white mother-of-pearl dial. The third, in black or white ceramic, displays 12 brilliant-cut diamonds on a lacquered dial and 46 brilliant-cut diamonds on a steel bezel.
