The house of MAUBOUSSIN introduces the “Life for Now” chronograph. This automatic, self winding watch explores a new vision of timelessness through a watchcase for which all the precious raw materials, ranging from ceramic to solid stainless steel , are utterly unalterable. From this subtle blending are drawn a new generation of watches whose passionate urban temperament gives the opportunity for each of us to express our own self without allowing for time to confine us.
Ceramic has been an underlying material used in the early age of crafting jewelry. It was just a matter of time to see it reappear today as a refined high tech substance revealing it’s strong temperament drawn from this new watch conception by MAUBOUSSIN.
Born from fire, this amazingly dense material, virtually as hard as diamonds, possesses on its well-polished surface, the distinctiveness of memorizing the print left by the ones who have touched it. Inalterable but alive, with a sensual feel, a black luster similar to onyx, the ceramic is primarily used for shaping the heart of the watchcase and bracelet.
Blended with strong stainless steel for the solid bezel, case-back and crown, all these elements are securely sealed and meticulously combined. The master jeweler’s final gesture is to add a genuine amethyst to top the crown of each timepiece, to give even more pleasure and luxury to it’s owner.
A priceless handcrafted process, which enables the Swiss-made mechanical chronograph with an automatic self winding movement, to resist harsh conditions such as humidity and/or dust. MAUBOUSSIN believes that outstanding and exclusive workmanship should be highlighted.
Therefore, it has chosen to expose part of the movement within a see-through sapphire mineral crystal lense, in the case back. Adapting to all current fashions whether formal, leisure or sport, this jewel of a fine timepiece is warranted 24 months and guaranteed waterproof up to 160 feet below see level. It is currently proposed with a supple wrist bracelet made in ceramic, identical to the watchcase, or on a natural rubber strap.
With a safety hidden inner lock on the bracelet, this exclusive chronograph so passionately MAUBOUSSIN in its features, discloses the never-ending charm of a rational jewel with the aim to indicate time without imprisoning it.
Nothing better than managed authenticity to ensure that time will not take the lead or get away! To achieve this challenging task, a silvered dial with a 1950’s inspired design is enthused by the golden age of wrist chronographs. Featuring two sub-meter dials at 9 and 3 o’clock, with the date in a window at 6 o’clock within a symmetric layout. This makes for easy reading at a glance, both day or night, from the dial as well as the sword shaped luminescent hands that glow in the dark. The efficient chronograph possesses triangular push buttons dressed-up with black lacquer particulars. They in turn, start, stop as well as reset the elegant chrono needle, which is anchored by the Mauboussin signature triangular counter weight; as well as a smaller one in the left meter dial dedicated to count the time elapsed up to 30 minutes. And since the most efficient markings are usually sober, the tip of the fast needle running one round per minute posts, in its devoted dial, with the preciseness of up to 1/15th of a second.
