The new jewellery watch collection, entitled "Mademoiselle Privé", opens the door to the intimate world of Gabrielle Chanel, and showcases her most cherished symbols and objects she loved to have around her.
"Mademoiselle Privé" – the two words features on the door of her desogn studio, located at rue Cambon.
The "Mademoiselle Privé" collection offers a unique interpretation of the poetic language to wich Gabrielle Chanel was so deeply attached, by combining the Métier d'Art craftsmanship used in Fine Watchmaking and High Jewellery.
A camelia which turns on the second, and yet another that reflects a subtle play of tones when cut from precious white mother-of-pearl marquetery.
Constellations and a majestic lion are ablaze in translucent enamel produced in the "Grand Feu" tradition, while the feather appears to curl in a soft gradation of pink sapphires and diamonds.
Scenes chosen from Grabrielle Chanel's Coromandel lacquer screens exalt in "Grand Feu" enamel, produced in the age-old Geneva technique. And finally, snow-set diamonds sparkle around the watchcases that frame each of these designs.
In the hands of the finest master artisans-enamellers, engravers, carvers, and stone-setters, this new collection adds yet another chapter to CHANEL's creative saga in watchmaking, and uncovers new grounds for expressing unsurpassed skill and know-how.
